Dandelion Root Chai Tea

I don’t know about you but I love warm spicy drinks like chai tea. I prefer to make my own because coffee shop chai is usually far too sweet for me. I’ve been working on perfecting a chai tea recipe for some time now. Yesterday I was inspired to add dandelion root to my recipe after reading this article on the amazing cancer-fighting effects from consuming dandelion root extract.

My friend Tyler is trying to lose weight and he asked my other friend Orlando to train him. Tyler was embarrassed to go to the gym though so Orlando is taking care of that by dressing up as characters when they go to the gym so that the focus isn’t on Tyler but on himself. So far Tyler has been trained by a Jedi and steampunk Batman. This is one of the nicest things I have ever seen done for someone else.

Orlando’s kindness blows me away.

“A Great Runner is not the person winning every race or the person who gets first all on the reps in a workout. A Great Runner is the runner that wakes up every Sunday morning to start their run and says "Today I’m going to do better than yesterday" and they try their damn near hardest to do so.”

Every effort is celebrated and praise worthy. I mean, what’s there not to be proud of yourself constantly improving you for the better?

You are only as strong as you allow yourself to be, so think less and do more. I’ve been telling myself for months that my bakasana couldn’t get lift off, and after my ‘well… shit’ moment seeing that it was the pose for I decided that today was the day. No big break through in alignment, just decided I was done with excuses - and then there she is. My first lift off in eka pada bakasana without assistance or a strap. @laurasykora @kinoyoga and @beachyogagirl by elleclio via Instagram http://ift.tt/1dUaQv5

Sometimes you just need that extra brownie or that extra bowl of pasta or that extra slice of pizza. Sometimes you need a day of laying in bed watching your favourite tv show over and over again with a bowl of ice cream. Sometimes you don’t need to go for that run or go to the gym. Sometimes the unhealthiest option is by far the healthiest option. Nourish your soul and mind.

I like my body. My weight doesn’t dictate my self worth anymore. I’ll continue to love it whether my weight goes up or down. Just because I’m hoping to lose more weight doesn’t mean I hate my present body.
