Today begins my healthy summer!

I have seriously fallen off of my healthy life wagon this year. I started my freshman year at university and struggled to maintain workout schedules and healthy eatings on menus I couldn’t control. But that is ok, because I have all summer to make my epic comeback and get to the place I want to be. Boom. The good thing is I didn’t really gain any weight at college, so I’m basically just starting from where I already was, which is better than starting from worse off.

I have to lose a couple of stress/sleep deprivation pounds I put on during final exams, and then I am at 150 lbs, back where I was pretty much all year. My goal for the summer is to get to 130. I am not setting a date yet, I just know that that is the goal.

And it’s happening.

Today marks my first day of the journey. I ate bananas and orange slices for breakfast, had a big ol’ iced green tea, 2 slices of deli meat before my run, thin crust pizza and a vegetable tray for dinner (broccoli, cauliflower, rutabaga) and 2 small dark chocolates for dessert.

I went on my first jog in a loooong time, which was 1.36 miles. I finished in about 15 minutes which I was happy with seeing as I haven’t run in so long. I had to stop to walk about half-way through, so my current goal is just to get back to running the whole thing non-stop. My goal after that is to get my mile down to 10 minutes.

LET’S DO THIS SUMMER 2013!!!

Some days I think I will just give up on my fitness and health aspirations forever.
